What Is It?

Dupuytren's contracture is a fibroproliferative disorder of the palmar fascia. Over time, nodules and cords of thickened tissue form under the skin of the palm, gradually pulling one or more fingers into a bent position that cannot be straightened. The ring and small fingers are most commonly affected.

Treatment Options

Options include needle aponeurotomy (a minimally invasive office procedure), collagenase injection (Xiaflex), or surgical fasciectomy. Dr. Letzelter will recommend the most appropriate option based on the pattern and severity of your contracture.
